About Mr. Schupp
My name is Simon Schupp and I'm thrilled to be teaching 4th Grade at Eagle Glen this year! I had taught fourth Grade ELA in Adrian, MO and just finished teaching sixth Grade ELA/Social Studies at Bridle Ridge Intermediate. This will be my eighth year teaching and my fourth year teaching fourth grade.
I hold a B.S. in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University (Go Bearcats) and I'm currently working on my Masters in Education in Reading through Arkansas State University.
My wife, Anne, teaches piano lessons and also runs a home daycare. We have 2 children, Isaac who is five and is a kindergartener at Eagle Glen and Ivy who is two. When I am not teaching, I enjoy being active in some community and professional theatre in the Kansas City area (see pictures below).
I am very passionate about reading and one of my main goals in teaching is to turn students into voracious readers. Students will have goals throughout the year to help them become voracious readers.
Also, we will be focusing on becoming a class family this year. We see eachother everyday and it's important to learn to care and problem solve together. Every student will have daily jobs and we will have daily class meetings to recognize student accomplishments and approach problems we are experiencing in a respectful and safe way.
